How is the commission calculated? Show me an example.

The 10% commission rate means that Mnadani will deduct 10% of the total selling price of an item before remitting the proceeds to the seller. This rate typically applies to all categories of products, such as Fashion, electronics etc. Here's how it works:

1. Commission Deduction:

When an item sells, Mnadani calculates the commission by multiplying the selling price by the commission rate of 10%. This amount is deducted directly from the sale proceeds.

2. Seller's Earnings:

The seller receives the selling price minus the 10% commission. This means that for every item sold, the seller gets 90% of the total selling price.

Example Calculation

Suppose you sell a phone for TSh 100,000 on Mnadani.

  • Selling Price: TSh 100,000

  • Commission Rate: 10%

Commission Amount = Selling Price x Commission Rate

Commission Amount = TSh 100,000 x 0.10 = TSh 10,000

Seller’s Earnings = Selling Price - Commission Amount

Seller’s Earnings = TSh 100,000 - TSh 10,000 = TSh 90,000

So, if the phone sells for TSh 100,000, Mnadani will deduct TSh 10,000 as a commission, and you will receive TSh 90,000.

This commission covers the costs of services provided by Mnadani, including platform maintenance, marketing, and customer support, ensuring that Sellers have access to a large customer base and robust selling tools.
